"With Baby’s prodding I found new energy, and with the depth of the snow decreasing as we dropped to a lower altitude it was much easier to walk. All sorts of thoughts swirled in my head. I wondered what Mom and Dad were doing; surely they would be worried by now. I spent my time thinking about the very special family Christmas we had just had. I envisioned my friends having a snowball fight, and wondered whether they were curious as to why I didn’t come back—or whether they’d even noticed. I recalled pretty Autumn, and how much fun we had riding Baby. I thought about Sneeze and Nishka. I imagined how warm I would be if I were home, and how good dinner would taste, regardless of what we had to eat. But mostly, I prayed."
Welcome to my web site!
Please feel free to browse through these pages and read about my most recently published books. In addition, you’ll be able to take a peek preview at some of my forthcoming projects, and their approximate release dates—if available.
Hopefully this web site will give you a little insight, as to who I am, and why I do what I do. As a published author I receive lots of questions about my writing. Probably the most common, and certainly the most important question is—why do I write? For me, that’s an easy one—because I love it. Many years ago, I was lucky enough to discover that writing poetry and stories for children was one of my greatest pleasures. It wasn’t just the thrill of putting ones innermost thoughts and daydreams on a piece of paper, but that rush you feel when a child, or perhaps their parent comes up to you, and with a big smile on their face says, I just loved your book! Now for me, that’s what true satisfaction is all about.
Unfortunately, it took me a bit longer than most to decide I wanted writing to be more than just a hobby. I remember several years ago my father telling me what an interesting life he had had. He said, “I’ve seen and done so many things in my life, I could write a book.” But he never did! So, just maybe deep down inside, writing and being published is my way of fulfilling one of my father’s unfulfilled desires. Regardless—I ’m here, I’m writing, and hopefully you’ll allow me to share my work with you!
Respectfully,
Kent D. Walsh

"The human body is wondrously made. But sometimes things can go wrong, whether it be from abuse we heap upon ourselves, hazards we encounter in everyday life, or as a result of genetic tendencies. Many times the symptoms of impending disaster are right in front of us, but so often we are too blind to notice.
I certainly was. All the messages were there. Everything my body did, or wouldn't do, over the last several weeks was trying to tell me, "Something is horribly wrong!" Yet like many people, I procrastinated just long enough that it was too late. The physical and mental strain I had placed upon myself had finally taken its toll. Here I lay, helpless on the floor of a blood-splattered hallway, magnificently muscled, yet not strong enough to even crawl to my knees."
